What qualifies me to teach a seminar?
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I taught acting in Los Angeles, Ca. for two years. During this time, I also was traveling the country nationwide teaching acting seminars. For the past 2 years, I have been teaching ongoing acting classes in Austin, Dallas, and Houston, Texas.
While in Los Angeles, I was asked to teach a class by Ivana Chubbuck at the Ivana Chubbuck studios. Ivana Chubbuck's technique is regarded as one of the foremost techniques for professional, working actors in North America and has lead the way to redefining acting through itŐs unique approach to the craft, character development, scene analysis, and effective scene winning techniques. Past and present students include Brad Pitt, Charlize Theron, Melissa Joan Hart, Tara Reid, Elizabeth Shue, Jim Carrey, Matthew Perry, Amy Smart, David Spade, Eriq LaSalle, Majandra Delfino, David Arquette, Drew Carey, Famke Jensen, Mario Lopez, Tyra Banks, Kate Hudson and hundreds more... MOTION PICTURE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
I am a third generation successful working actor with more than forty film and television credits, I grew up in the business and on the set and have learned valuable insights and secrets of the trade. I have compiled all of the information I have learned over the years through trial and error, discussions with top people in the trade, and seminars and classes I myself have attended. My seminar is designed to share these insights with you.
Recently, I finished Producing and Directing my first feature film, the thriller/horror "Soul Searchers". I learned so much due to this opportunity and the experiences that I can share with actors from a Producers and Directors point of view is invaluable. The lead in the film, Luke Tingle, was one of the 15 of my past and present students I used in the film. Luke Tingle will be in attendance to answer questions about being in his first movie, how what I taught him helped and to share his experiences with you. The cast also include Billy Drago (The Untouchables, Charmed), Robert Rusler (Babylon 5, Weird Science, Nightmare on Elm St 2, Shag), Julie St.Claire (Y&R, Santa Barbara, VIP), Jaime Anstead (Backlot Murders, Death Train), and Christopher Mitchum (Big Jake, Rio Lobo). The film is currently in "Post".
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
I attended the University of Southern California's (USC) Bachelor of Fine Arts(BFA)-Drama program. This program is very prestigious as it only accepts 34 people nationwide per year. In addition, I also trained privately with John Kirby(brother of Bruno) in Los Angeles, Ivan Markota of the Van Mar Academy in Los Angeles and most recently with Ivana Chubbuck. The Chubbuck studio is regarded as one of the most well respected acting studios in the world.
